Sea Wasp ☠

Chironex fleckeri is a species of highly venomous box jellyfish. Its the most deadly jellyfish in the world, and some experts consider it the most deadly creature on Earth.

The sea wasp’s small body is less of a concern than the tentacles, which reach up to 10 feet long. Each of the tentacles hanging down from the sea wasp’s body is covered with specialized stinging cells, called cnidocytes. The amount of venom in one animal is said to be enough to kill 60 adult humans.

Researchers at the University of Hawaii’s Department of Tropical Medicine found the venom causes cells to become porous enough to allow potassium leakage, causing hyperkalemia, which can lead to cardiovascular collapse and death as quickly as within 2 to 5 minutes.

It is native to the coastal waters surrounding Australia, New Guinea, The Philippines and Vietnam.
