Goats are superb climbers, their hooves have a tough outer casing that allows them to dig into and stand on almost invisible ledges.

Soft pads on the bottom mould to contours in the wall’s surface like a climbing shoe.

And while they may appear to be stocky and muscular from the side, they are actually quite slender when viewed from head on.

This shape is vital to maintaining their balance on these extremely narrow protrusions.

One pitfall though, mountain goats are afflicted with absurdly large genitals for their somewhat diminutive size.

This often leads to their own demise as the swinging of these large ‘twig and berries’ will cause them to lose their balance, falling hundreds of feet to their deaths.

That last part is 100% fiction, but if it were true it might explain their extreme fearlessness:
