The Relentless March of Time

Not long ago, this stone was a part of the earth.

It stood for over 100 years as a memorial to a father and his 3 children

150 years later, new life has come to reclaim the space along with its stone marker.

Now, I like photos like these to serve as a constant reminder:

We are not the owners of this planet, we are merely tenants.

In the overall scheme of things 100 years is a blink of an eye, and most of our lives start and end before that cosmic eye blinks again.

Anything we take from the Earth will eventually be taken back by her, sometimes in slow but spectacular fashion.

There is no stopping it, we can only slow it down.
