Tiger King
πŸ“Έ by @sachin_rai_photography

A bengal tiger with a healed injury, presumably sustained from a territorial fight with another bengal.

Male tigers of breeding age maintain a hunting territory of 10 – 15 miles (16 – 24 km) that they defend fiercely against other male tigers.

This zone usually contains at least 3 females, who govern their own smaller areas within that territory to rear the controlling male’s cubs.

Most clashes between tigers end up with the loser skulking away to lick their wounds, but some clashes are fatal.

One particular case in Pilibhit forest, a male fought and killed another and dragged it into the forest, where it partially consumed the defeated bengal in a display of dominance.
