A green sea turtle, mortally wounded in an encounter with a bull shark, swims away with her insides trailing behind her.
You could argue that her will to survive has done her a disservice in this instance, as she will most certainly die of her injuries.
That’s how hard-wired survival is, it overpowers common sense and reasoning – to submit is a literal death and death is not a fucking option.
Sadly, the reward for all of that effort to escape is just prolonged suffering, she will eventually succumb to her wounds.
