Lionesses eat a warthog alive.

A warthog’s neck is thick and muscular, which works to their advantage when they’re fighting each other, but makes it extremely difficult for this lion to successfully crush its windpipe and end the hog’s misery.

A lioness hunting on her own would have to make sure her prey is dead before consuming it to avoid serious injury, which could have dire consequences even for a predator as large as a lion.

With a group of lioness this size that isn’t as much of a problem, together they can easily overpower most medium sized animals.
