South polar skua steals a gentoo penguin chick right our from under her protector.

The 1st part of the video (original post) is presented at half speed. Using our slick @natureismetal video editing skills, the second half of the video is bumped back up to full speed, just to show how quick they are.

Skuas are opportunistic predatory sea birds that are obviously not afraid to do some dirt on their own, but they would much rather steal food from other sea birds.

I mean, why do the work if you can just bully the actual hunters into giving up their catch?

This behavior is known as kleptoparasitism and it is the bread and butter of the skua.
