Paper Tiger

A tiger takes issue with the proximity of this elephant and her human rider at Bandhavgarh national park.

Tigers are solitary hunters, they are masters of stealth hunting and are capable of taking down a wide variety of prey animals.

It might seem hard to imagine, but tigers have one of the lowest hunting success rates of all predators. Somewhere between 5 – 10 percent of all attempts end in a successful kill (this could be due to the fact that they make a higher than average amount of plate appearances, but I don’t know for sure.)
Although it may be possible for a tiger to kill an adult elephant, it is not the likely outcome. The elephants size and strength are a huge obstacle for a single tiger to overcome, so they stick to hunting smaller prey.

As long as that dude stays on the elephant, he’s safe.
