Heron snatches up a duckling

The great blue heron is a wading bird in the heron family and the largest North American heron, you can find these birds in pretty much any wetland on the continent.

They stand roughly 4ft (1.2m) tall and have a wingspan of roughly 7ft (2.1m). Their primary food source is fish, but they will eat whatever they can spear with their large beak. They are quite fond of ducklings.

They locate food by sight and swallow it whole.
