This komodo dragon had been following this already weak water buffalo calf for several days when @dieuws_wildlife caught up with it.

The calf then made the mistake of laying down in a nearby watering hole, which prompted the komodo to attack and accelerate the expiration of the young buffalo.

A death by any other means seems like an incredible mercy when compared to the slow agonizing death dealt by the komodo dragon.

Its ironic, we chastise game hunters for delivering a swift, almost instant death, when in reality the natural way is often much, much worse.

Just like every other living thing on this planet, animals don’t live forever. Death is coming for all of us, there’s no getting around it.

If you ask me, I’d take a game hunters bullet (or arrow) over this any day of the week.
