Lion chewing on the tender bits of a zebra’s noggin

A well earned rest after the hunt to recharge the old batteries and get ready for the next one. The pride is large, many mouths to feed.

Can’t let anything go to waste.

The head of a zebra doesn’t have that much meat on it, its also difficult to get at. The brain is very calorie-dense, but that would require cracking open the skull.

The insects will find it soon enough – rancid, rotting meat is barely edible. Best to leave it for the next in line and take another life instead.

Just another death in this conga line of souls, vanquished to keep the pride intact and functioning to the best of its ability.

One day it will be my turn
