One hyena vs an entire squad of african painted dogs.

She (yes, I’m assuming the hyenas gender… don’t @ me) may be outnumbered, but she’s quite capable of holding her own against these combative canines.

You can tell by the way they are at least trying not to attack her one at a time, that this hyena’s ability to defend herself is not being underestimated.

At the same time, she can’t fight them all at once, so this is an effective strategy. She’s also keen to keep her butt down whenever possible, as wild dogs are notorious for using the backside as an entry point to the innards of whatever they are attacking.

This video kind of starts in the middle of the action, so I don’t have much more to go on (I’m already assuming a ton) but I really can’t get enough of wild dogs in action, especially against one of the top predators in Africa.
