In Death Is Life

Birds nest in the mouth of a dead pike.

If this happened naturally (the fish being in the tree I mean) it was most likely the result of flooding, pike can get pretty big so this all but rules out the fish being snatched up by a bird and dropped. That being said, I don’t know the location at which this photo was taken, so I could be way off base here.

If unnatural (aka “placed”) then who knows, maybe someone wanted to keep the skull as a trophy and left to there to dry, but forgot about it. In any case, it has been reclaimed by new life, and while I’m not an expert in bird law, I do believe squatters right do apply here.

If you have any other theories as to how the fish got up there, please share with the class.
